Your local optometrist in Australind
Eyes@Optometry Australind is part of an independent, locally owned practice that has cared for South West families since 2005. You'll find us in the Australind Professional Centre on Mardo Avenue, with free parking right outside.
We see a wide mix of people here. Families bring in children as young as two. Many people in their 40s and 50s come to us when they notice their vision changing for the first time. Patients of all ages visit our dry eye clinic for gritty, tired or irritated eyes. And we work with older patients over many years to look after their eye health and keep their vision clear for everyday life and driving.
Whoever you are, you'll get a thorough eye test that is never rushed, and a clear explanation of what we find and what it means for you.

Children's eye tests in Australind
Children aren't just little adults, so we test and talk with them in ways that suit their age. A child can see clearly on the chart and still have trouble with:
Focusing
Eye teaming
Tracking
Visual processing
These can affect reading, handwriting, concentration and sport. If we find something, we take the time to explain what it means and what your options are, rather than simply handing over a prescription.
Children’s eye tests are bulk billed for under 18s with a Medicare card, including on Saturdays. And if glasses are needed, we keep a big range of colourful, durable kids’ frames.
